750 ml Bottles: Family Size, 28/410 Neck, and a Wall That Has to Hold
750 ml is the family shampoo and pet shampoo size. It is the first size where a 28/410 pump is mandatory and the wall thickness becomes a structural question.
750 ml exists because of price per ml: a family buys once and uses for months. It is also the size where low-cost bottles fail, because a full 750 ml puts more load on the shoulder than a 500 ml.
The free Bottle Spec Checker tests whether your neck fits the closure and whether the wall survives a pump stroke.

28/410 Is Not Optional
At 750 ml a 24/410 pump looks small and doses too slowly for the volume; 28/410 is the standard, and it needs a wider neck and shoulder.
28/410 Pump
2.0 ml+ per stroke; the default for family shampoo.
Flip-Top
lower in unit cost, used for refill formats and value lines.
The Wall Has to Hold
A full 750 ml at 0.55 mm flexes under a stroke and the pump draws air. 0.65 mm at the shoulder is the practical floor, and 0.7 mm for a rough handling chain.
Export Economics
A 750 ml carton is heavy: check pallet weight limits before fixing the pack count. Freight per litre drops, but the case can hit a limit a 500 ml case does not.
Where This Size Fails
At 750 ml the pack is a container before it is a brand object. Failures come from the shoulder, the base and the closure — in that order.
Shoulder Flex
A full bottle puts load on the shoulder; below 0.65 mm a pump stroke deforms it and draws air.
Base Sag
A flat, reinforced base is needed or cases sag in a pallet stack over weeks.
Closure Mismatch
38 mm and 38-400 are not the same specification; confirm the thread on the drawing.
What to Send in a Brief
Capacity (750 ml), product type, neck, closure, and whether the pack ships as a retail unit or a refill. Those answers decide resin, wall and base.
750 ml in PET, HDPE and Clear: Which One You Are Actually Buying
The 750 ml size is moulded in more than one resin, and the resin decides what the pack can carry. Clear PET for a product that has to be seen; HDPE where the formula is opaque or attacks PET; PETG when the wall has to look thick like glass.
500 ml and 1 L bracket it — the neck is usually shared, which is why one closure range covers the whole family. If you are switching between 750 ml and 1 L, keep the neck the same and only the body changes.
Clear PET
The default for shampoo, water and anything sold on colour; light, recyclable, food-grade.
HDPE
Opaque, cheap, and resistant to surfactants — the choice for detergent and chemicals.
PETG
Thicker wall, closer to glass; costs 20–30 % more per unit.
Questions We Get on This
What is a 750 ml bottle used for?
Family shampoo, conditioner, pet shampoo and refill formats.
What neck does a 750 ml bottle use?
28/410; a 24/410 is too small for the volume.
What wall thickness does 750 ml need?
At least 0.65 mm at the shoulder for a 28/410 pump.
What is the MOQ?
1,000 pcs per colour.
What is the MOQ for a 750 ml bottle?
1,000 pcs per colour on existing moulds.
Can it take a standard pump?
At 1 L usually not — 38 mm necks take screw or measuring caps, not 28/410 pumps.
Is the base reinforced?
Specify it: a full bottle at this size can sag in a pallet stack.
Can I get the 750 ml in clear and in white?
Yes — same mould, different resin or masterbatch; the neck stays identical so closures carry over.
