What Buyers Get Wrong
Buying the Closure Separately From the Bottle
A pump that fits on a drawing can leak on a bottle. Test the pair.
Assuming 410 and 415 Are Interchangeable
Both are 24 mm; only one seals. Ask for the thread code.
Over-Torque at the Filling Line
Above spec the liner distorts and opens a gap on one side.
Pumps, Caps and Sprayers Are Tested on the Bottle
Closures are injection moulded, tested against the bottle, and sold with it. A pump that fits on a drawing can leak on a bottle, because the neck tolerance and the thread depth are what actually seal.
We stock 24/410 and 28/410 lotion pumps, mist sprayers, flip-top and disc-top caps, and 18/410 and 20/410 droppers for small bottles. All are fitted and leak-tested before packing.
What to Send When Ordering Closures Only
The neck finish of the bottle you are using, the product viscosity, and the dose you want per stroke. If the bottle comes from another supplier, send one; we will test the closure on it rather than assume the neck is standard.
MOQ is 1,000 pcs per closure type, and mixed closures in one carton are possible within the same neck size.
Why Closures Leak, in Order of Frequency
First: the wrong neck. A 24/410 closure on a 24/415 bottle threads on but does not seal. Second: over-torque at the filling line, which distorts the liner. Third: a liner that is incompatible with the product (oil-based formulas swell EPE liners). Fourth: a dip tube cut too long, which pushes the pump up and breaks the seal.
All four are lower in unit cost to fix at the sample stage than after a container ships. That is why we test the closure on the bottle, filled, rather than sending a closure sample on its own.
Matching Table by Neck
18/410: droppers, small serum bottles, 10-30 ml. 20/410: fine mist sprayers and mini pumps, 30-100 ml. 24/410: lotion pumps, flip-top and disc-top caps, 250-500 ml. 28/410: heavy-duty pumps, 500-750 ml. 43/48/53 mm: cream jar lids. 63/70 mm: food jar caps with induction liners.
Lead Time and Packing
Closures are made to order in the same plant: 25-35 days after sample approval for standard pumps and caps, plus 5-7 days for a custom colour. They ship fitted to the bottles where possible, which removes one packing step and one damage claim at the filling line.
Ordered separately, closures pack 1,000-2,000 per carton depending on size; a 24/410 lotion pump is 1,000 per carton and weighs about 12 kg.
For repeat orders, we keep the closure specification on file with the bottle drawing, so a reorder two years later uses the same thread tolerance rather than a lookalike from another mould.
Applications for This Range
- Distributors stocking three to five SKUs for the same market
- Brands launching a first range at 1,000–5,000 pcs per colour
- Contract fillers who need closures fitted and tested before the line
- Private-label programmes that change colour every season
- Export orders that need packing data before the freight quote

Send a drawing or a sample photo. With 3,000+ moulds, we may already have it — and a new mould is USD 850 and 15–20 days.
