What Buyers Get Wrong

Trigger on a Mist Bottle

A 28/410 trigger does not fit a 24/410 mist bottle. The neck is decided by the sprayer.

Foam Without a Foaming Agent

A foam trigger needs a low-viscosity formula; a thick gel will not foam whatever the nozzle.

Solvent in a Standard Sprayer

Degreasers and high-alcohol formulas attack the gasket. Say so at the sample stage.

Trigger, Mist and Foam: Three Different Products

A trigger sprayer is a pump the hand squeezes; a fine mist sprayer is a pump the finger presses; a foam trigger mixes air at the nozzle. They share a bottle and nothing else. A 28/410 trigger will not fit a 24/410 mist bottle, and a foam head needs a low-viscosity formula or it will not foam.

Most home-care and garden lines use 500-1,000 ml HDPE bottles with 28/410 triggers; cosmetic mists use 100-200 ml PET with 24/410 or 20/410 fine mist sprayers. The bottle is chosen by the sprayer, not the other way round.

What Decides the Cost

The sprayer is usually 40-60 % of the unit cost at 1,000 pcs, not the bottle. A standard trigger is a few cents; a pre-compression continuous sprayer can be ten times that, which is why continuous spray is reserved for premium products and 3,000+ pcs runs.

Bottle weight is the second lever. A 1,000 ml HDPE at 55 g and at 75 g look the same on a shelf and differ by about 20 % in resin cost.

Testing Before It Ships

Two failures dominate returns: the trigger leaking at the nozzle after a few hundred strokes, and the dip tube cut too long so the bottle does not stand flat. We test the fitted unit filled, 20 strokes, and check the tube length against the bottle base.

If the formula contains a solvent (degreasers, alcohols), say so — it changes the gasket material inside the sprayer.

Frequently Asked

What is the difference between a trigger sprayer and a fine mist sprayer?

A trigger is squeezed by the hand and delivers a stream or spray for cleaning products; a fine mist sprayer is pressed by a finger and delivers a cosmetic mist. They use different neck sizes and cannot be swapped.

What bottle size do trigger sprayers use?

Most triggers are 28/410 and suit 500-1,000 ml HDPE bottles. Cosmetic mist sprayers are usually 24/410 or 20/410 on 30-200 ml PET.

Can you supply the sprayer with the bottle?

Yes — trigger, mist and foam sprayers are fitted and tested on the bottle before packing.

What is the MOQ for a spray bottle?

1,000 pcs per colour for stock moulds; continuous sprayers and new shapes start at 3,000 pcs.

Applications for This Range

  • Distributors stocking three to five SKUs for the same market
  • Brands launching a first range at 1,000–5,000 pcs per colour
  • Contract fillers who need closures fitted and tested before the line
  • Private-label programmes that change colour every season
  • Export orders that need packing data before the freight quote

Send a drawing or a sample photo. With 3,000+ moulds, we may already have it — and a new mould is USD 850 and 15–20 days.
