What Buyers Get Wrong
Expecting Glass Luxury From Plastic
PETG reads closer to glass than PET, but it is not a flacon. Use it for travel, testers and refills.
Crimp or Screw Decided Late
Crimp prevents refill and tampering; screw allows both. The neck differs, so it is decided before tooling.
Dose per Spray Ignored
0.05–0.1 ml per spray changes the perceived strength of the scent. Specify it with the pump.
Plastic Atomizers, Honestly Described
A plastic perfume bottle is not a glass flacon. It is PET or PETG with a crimp or screw atomizer, and its advantage is weight and freight, not luxury. For travel sizes, testers and refill formats it is the practical choice; for a flagship 100 ml scent it is not.
Thick-wall PETG reads closer to glass than thin PET, at roughly 20-30 % more per unit and 3,000 pcs MOQ for the heavier wall.
Crimp or Screw
A crimp pump is sealed to the bottle and cannot be refilled; a screw pump can. Crimp is the perfume standard because it prevents tampering and evaporation; screw is used for travel and refillable formats.
The choice changes the neck: crimp bottles have a specific collar diameter, so the pump and bottle are ordered as a pair.
What to Send for a Quote
Capacity, collar type (crimp or screw), dose per spray, and whether the cap is magnetic or snap. With those four we can match an existing mould or quote tooling.
