What Buyers Get Wrong
Hot Fill in Standard PET
Above about 60 °C the bottle deforms. Heat-set PET or PP/HDPE is the answer.
Orifice Chosen After the Cap
A 3 mm orifice for sauce, 8 mm for dressing, none for juice. It is a cap decision made with the filling line.
Documents per Family, Not per Batch
The declaration covers the resin lot. Ask per order.
Cold Fill and Hot Fill Are Different Bottles
Standard PET handles cold and ambient fill. Above roughly 60 °C it distorts unless the bottle is heat-set, which is a different mould and a different price. For hot sauce and pasteurised juice, the honest options are heat-set PET or PP/HDPE.
Most juice and sauce in PET is cold-filled and preserved by pH, preservative or chill chain. If your process is hot fill, say so before we quote — otherwise the first pallet will deform.
Necks, Orifices and Closures
Sauce bottles use 38 mm or 43 mm necks for filling speed; juice uses 28/410 or 38 mm with a tamper-evident cap. The orifice insert controls flow: a 3 mm orifice for sauce, 8 mm for dressing, none for juice.
For food contact we supply the resin declaration of compliance and can quote a migration test on the finished bottle where the destination market requires it.
Why Food Bottles Cost More Than Cosmetic Bottles
Food adds requirements rather than materials: a wider neck (more resin), a heavier wall for filling-line handling, and documentation. The bottle itself is usually 10-20 % more expensive than the cosmetic equivalent at the same volume.
Frequently Asked
Is your PET suitable for hot fill?
Standard PET distorts above about 60 °C. For hot fill we quote heat-set PET or PP/HDPE instead.
Do you provide food contact documentation?
Yes — the resin declaration of compliance, and a migration test on the finished bottle where the destination market requires it.
What neck is standard for juice bottles?
28/410 for 250-500 ml juice, 38 mm where filling speed matters.
What is the MOQ for food bottles?
1,000 pcs per colour, 25-35 days after sample approval.
Applications for This Range
- Distributors stocking three to five SKUs for the same market
- Brands launching a first range at 1,000–5,000 pcs per colour
- Contract fillers who need closures fitted and tested before the line
- Private-label programmes that change colour every season
- Export orders that need packing data before the freight quote
