4 Oz Jars (120 ml): the Cream and Candle Size
4 oz is about 120 ml, the most common cosmetic cream jar and the standard small candle. Straight sides, wide mouth, and a liner that has to survive oil.
4 oz is the size most face creams ship in, and the size most small candle brands start with.
The body is commodity; the difference between a good and a bad 4 oz is the rim flatness and the liner.
The free Bottle Spec Checker tests whether your neck fits the closure and whether the wall survives a pump stroke.

Why 120 ml Is the Cream Default
A face cream dose is about 1 ml; 120 ml is a three-month supply. That is why the size is stable across markets, and why the lid range is so wide.
Screw Lid
Standard; 63 mm or 70 mm neck.
Dome Lid
Reads premium; costs more and stacks badly.
Candle Fills
A 4 oz candle holds roughly 100 g of wax. The jar must take 60–70 °C without deforming — PP or glass, not thin PET.
Where It Fails
Lid creep on an oil-based cream, and rim cracks from over-torquing at the filling line.
What to Send in a Brief
For a 4 oz (120 ml) pack used for cream and candles, five answers settle it: capacity, neck, closure, quantity and whether the pack travels. Those decide the wall, the liner and the carton before a sample is made.
The Three Numbers That Matter
Capacity, neck and wall. Everything else — colour, decoration, carton — follows them.
What We Check Before Quoting
That the closure exists in that neck, that the wall survives the fill, and that the carton protects the shoulder.
What We Do Not Do
Filling, formulation and label design. We supply the container and the closure, tested together.
Common Mistakes at This Size
Two failures dominate returns at this size: a closure that leaks in transit, and a wall thin enough to crack the first time it is dropped.
Both are decided at the specification stage, not at the mould.
